Child of God Don't Quit

Greetings Beloved, you have mail.

Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

I write this letter to encourage you not to quit on your divine assignment from God.

Beloved, you have checked out on your divine assignment, and you have been out for a while now. Sure, your body is still present in the game, but your heart and your passion are not. You have given up, but you continue to go through the motions; and now you have convinced yourself that if you just show up and appear to be engaged and enthusiastic, no one will ever know that you have checked out, and that you have no plans, nor desires to connect and engage ever again. “This assignment is extremely challenging,” you say; “and what gets me,” you say, “the Father knew it was challenging when he gave it to me; surely, He knew that I was not qualified for this assignment, and yet He gave it to me anyhow. Surely, He knew that I would be ostracized, criticized, despised, and rejected, yet He gave it to me anyhow. Surely, He knew that I was not smart enough, pretty enough, rich enough, nor influential enough, yet He gave it to me anyway.

So, if anybody has a right to check out, I do. I am tired, frustrated, aggravated, and I just want out. I give and give, but rarely is it reciprocated. I make sacrifice after sacrifice, but it seems as if every one of them are unappreciated. I would love to share my frustrations with those around me, but I cannot do it, because I know that they will perceive it as a sign of weakness, and some will be disappointed, and God forbid that I should disappoint them; so, I will just silently check out and continue to go through the motions. For the most part, they will not notice a thing. I will still be functioning in my position, my work will still be quality work, and I will still be performing in what appears to be a spirit of excellence, but my heart, my passion, and my zeal will not be there.”

Beloved, we, the Body of Christ hear you. We hear you, and we acknowledge your pain. We know you are hurting; we know you are frustrated, and we know you feel like no one cares, but we care, and we support you. Your pain is real, and we acknowledge that. We are so sorry that something or someone has caused you to feel the way that you do; and while we are sure that you already know that our God is able to take that which the enemy meant for bad and make it work together for good, let us try to encourage you, nonetheless. Let us try to encourage and persuade you not to check out on your divine assignment from the Father. Let us try to encourage you to continue to work for the Lord while it is day, because rest assured, beloved, the night is coming, and no man shall be able to work.

So, beloved, if you need to take a break from your assignment, then do so. If you need to step back and regroup, then do so, but just do not permanently check out on your assignment, unless God tells you to do so. You are valued more than you know. I truly believe that you would be amazed at the number of people that are inspired by you and look forward to hearing your voice and seeing your face. Child of the one and only true and living God, there is so much more for you to do. There are souls waiting for you to carry out and complete your assignment.

Beloved, the Father has not left you and never will, He needs you to get back in the game and help the Church advance His kingdom. Sure, the assignment is challenging, but that is why our heavenly Father has gifted and graced you for the challenge. Sure, the assignment is difficult, and sometimes it can be overwhelming, but that is why our Father has equipped you with His Word, given you the Holy Spirit, and blessed you to be part of a vast community of believers. Child of God, we need and value you. We need your help in this fight against the enemy and his kingdom. His kingdom is advancing at phenomenal speed as he works endlessly at devouring sons and daughters, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

So, beloved, rest if you must, but please do not quit. As I prepare to end this letter, I leave you with some words that I hope will inspire you to check back in and continue in your assignment. I hope these words will encourage you to continue in your asignment and to be faithful, even unto death.

First, I leave you with the words that helped me when I was in the same position you are in:

In 2018, as I wrestled with some things and frustration began to settle in, I could hear in my Spirit, "I never told you that this life was going to be pretty, nor did I tell you that it was going to be a life of ease; but I did tell you that all those who live godly in Christ Jesus are going to suffer persecution. No, I did not tell you that living a godly life was going to be one of ease, but I did tell you that many are the afflictions of the righteous, but I, the Lord, delivers them out of them all. You are living in a fallen world and opposition will confront you daily. In fact, I sent you out as a sheep among wolves, and regardless of who you are, or even who you think you are, maintaining your stance is going to require you to fight the good fight of faith, and the greater the opposition, the greater your fight. So no, your life is not going to be a bed of roses without the thorns. You are going to fight, and you are going to feel some of the hits, and you will wear some of the bruises from those very same hits; and unfortunately, some of those hits are going to come from family and friends, and some of those hits will come from those whom you fight with on the battlefield as well as worship with; but consider yourself in good company with those holy men of God who have gone on before you. For example, remember Jesus and his horrific battle and how even after the battle was over, he still had the scars of the battle. Remember the Apostle Paul and his horrific battles and yet at the end of his life, he had a great testimony. Let me remind you of Paul’s words in 2 Timothy 4:7-8, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” So, regardless of how pretty you may believe being a child of God may be, the reality is that in this world, your life as a child of God will not be photogenic perfect, nor will it be a perfect Leonardo da Vinci portrait; you will take some knocks, and wear some bruises, but if you suffer with me, you will reign with me.”

Second, I leave you with the words from one of my favorite hymns:

Must Jesus bear the cross alone, and all the world go free? No, there’s a cross for everyone, And there’s a cross for me. How happy are the saints above, Who once went sorr’wing here! But now they taste unmingled love, And joy without a tear. The consecrated cross I’ll bear Till death shall set me free; And then go home my crown to wear, For there’s a crown for me. Upon the crystal pavement down At Jesus’ pierced feet, Joyful I’ll cast my golden crown And His dear Name repeat. O precious cross! O glorious crown! O resurrection day! When Christ the Lord from heav’n comes down And bears my soul away.

Lastly, I leave you with the words from a favorite hymn of one of the deceased elders that was a member in my church, Elder Albert Kelly:

Am I a soldier of the cross, A follow’r of the Lamb? And shall I fear to own His cause, Or blush to speak His name? Must I be carried to the skies On flow’ry beds of ease, While others fought to win the prize, And sailed through bloody seas? Are there no foes for me to face? Must I not stem the flood? Is this vile world a friend to grace, To help me on to God? Sure I must fight if I would reign; Increase my courage, Lord; I’ll bear the toil, endure the pain, Supported by Thy Word. Thy saints in all this glorious war Shall conquer, though they die; They see the triumph from afar, By faith’s discerning eye. When that illustrious day shall rise, And all Thy armies shine In robes of vict’ry through the skies, The glory shall be Thine.

🙏Father, today I pray for the one reading this post, as well as that portion of the Body of Christ that has given up on their divine assignment. I also pray for those that are struggling with completing their assignment. I ask that You restore their passion and vision for their assignment. I pray Holy Spirit reignite within them a fresh zeal for their assignment and help them to be steadfast and unmovable as they work out the assignment which you have given them. Father, strengthen and establish them in their assignment, help them to resolve within themselves that they will not falter, nor will they quit, but that they will go on to complete their assignment, and this they will do in a spirit of excellence. And lastly, lead them to the tribe/community of believers that you have assigned for them.

In Jesus' name, I pray, amen.

God bless you and have a glorious life in the Lord, and remember, you got this. You have everything and everone you need to complete your assignment. 💖💝💞
